Description
This Wimshurst product group is designed for classroom and laboratory demonstration of electrostatic charge generation and discharge. The main unit is mounted on a wooden base with rubber feet and uses hand-cranked counter-rotating plates to produce charge, which is stored in Leyden jar capacitors. The group also includes spare belt options for the current EM1641-01 machine and for older style machines, making it practical for both demonstration use and maintenance support.
Wimshurst Machine, Demonstration of Electrostatic Charges Type
This Wimshurst machine is used to produce static electricity and electrostatic discharges for demonstration purposes. It is mounted on a wooden base with rubber feet, with stated base dimensions of 300 mm long x 180 mm wide and overall height of 300 mm. The hand crank rotates the plates in opposite directions, producing a charge which is then stored in the Leyden jar capacitors.
